This Chinese Qing Dynasty Green Glazed Oxen or bull is one of a pair we had TL tested as it shared characteristics with some Han Dynasty glazed pieces but had reservations. A taotie mask decorates what would appear to be a saddle on both sides of the body. Glaze has deteriorated in places but does not detract from this magnificent ceramic.

The Qing Dynasty was also referred to as the Manchu Dynasty and was the last imperial dynasty of China which ruled from 1644 – 1912.
